Bag-gauge |
Baggage is an undeniable essential for traveling. You can hardly call it “traveling” without any baggage to lug around, no matter what the sizes or shapes they come in. But what if you realize that the bulk of what you usually bring on your out of town trips is an impractical collection of bags? When you realize that you may suffer from an uncontrollable attachment to your bags, try thinking of the following points to confront your irrational fetish with reason:
Do you really (seriously) need it? If you’re on your way to the beach and find yourself packing your precious “Carrie Bradshaw” hand bags… take a good hard look at your tiny, adorable bag, do you honestly believe you’d go to some upscale, New York high street party on the beach? Do you really want that charming little creation to get ruined by the sand and the harsh saline wind? The same reasoning applies to weekend visits to your secluded retreat in the country.
If you’re on a business trip, the best bet for luggage would be a decent suitcase that carries all you’ll ever need for the entire trip and a smaller bag that you may bring to meetings and after-convention cocktails.
Admittedly, not too many people may suffer from this so-called ‘bag fetish’ but these simple tips and points to consider could also apply to other travel items such as clothes and shoes.
